Playoff odds, ends

The NLCS starts tonight and not a moment too soon as most devout fans were starting to show the definitive signs of withdrawl. Here's a few things to chew on before the LCS games get underway that weren't interesting enough to merit posts in and of themselves.

- Awful Announcing has the announcer schedules for each of the LCS series. The ALCS will be on FOX, meaning Yankees fans get to spend time with the dulcet tones of Joe Buck and the extreme baseball knowledge of Tim McCarver. My brain stem is giddy with anticipation, though I'm a bit disappointed that the NLCS gets the exclusive pleaure of the TBS broadcast crew (the indefatigable Chip Caray and Ron Darling) talking about fisting. This topic is even more awesome given the fact that Darling is in danger of breaking rocks in the hot sun.

- Speaking of TBS, they've earned stellar ratings for the respective division series matchups. In particular, the Yankees victory over the Twins in Game 3 doubled the ratings. Who says the Pinstripes are bad for baseball?

I suppose that qualifies as the "ends." Here's some odds to think about, courtesy of Bodog. Get your wagers ready folks!

Odds to win the World Series
New York Yankees - 5/6
Los Angeles Angels - 3/1
Los Angeles Dodgers - 7/2
Philadelphia Phillies - 4/1

World Series Matchup Odds
Yankees/Dodgers - 3/2
Yankees/Phillies - 7/4
Dodgers/Angels - 3/1 (Ed. note: Goooooodbye ratings!)
Phillies/Angels - 7/2

And there's a bunch more that you can checkout for yourself.
